Rapid Response Service To Help Insurers During RecessionIn the wake of budget and staff cutbacks in many of the marketing and communications departments at the nation’s insurance companies. Thomas H. Wetzel & Asssociates has created a new “rapid response” service for small, critical and time-sensitive projects that otherwise may go undone. “With a hardening market and the prospect of more regulatory activity this year, insurers should be reaching out more proactively to policyholders and policymakers; however, communications executives are being asked to do more with less,” says Tom Wetzel, president of the communications consulting firm that operates exclusively in the insurance industry. “Insurers which cannot afford ongoing, outside PR counsel could benefit from short-term and cost-effective access to communications professionals with deep insurance experience who can produce immediately.” The rapid response program works as follows: For any project request received by 12:00 p.m. (CST), THW&A will respond with a cost proposal by 5 p.m. CST the same day. Work may begin as soon as terms are agreed upon by the client and THW&A. Projects can be of any length, from an hour or two of work to several days or longer. Examples include article and speech writing, brochures and website content, e-newsletters and white papers, legislative research, ratings analysis and small media campaigns. THW&A was founded in 2000 and offers services in issues management, media relations, digital communications, government relations, product marketing, market research, and media training.
